LexJet 8 Mil Absolute Backlit is a translucent, 8-mil polyester film that enables anyone with pro-model aqueous inkjet or latex printers to produce stunning backlit graphics. The instant-dry, matte-finish coating on the front surface of the film produces a super-wide color gamut for brilliant colors and sharp details. The instant-dry coating also helps reduce the waiting time between printing and laminating and reduces the risk of damaging the prints while handling them.

Applying a pressure-sensitive laminating film is recommended to keep the prints from being damaged during installation in a lightbox.

LexJet 8 Mil Absolute Backlit works with either dye or pigment inks on inkjet printers that use thermal or piezo printheads. It is also compatible with HP's line of latex printers.

Printer/Ink CompatibilityCompatible with all thermal and piezo inkjet printers using water-based dye, pigment-based and latex inks.
Imaging SideMaterial is packaged with printable side facing up. Printable surface can be identified by a slight tackiness.
ProfilesFor the best and most consistent results, a profile should be created using an external color calibrator in conjunction with your RIP and color matching software.
Finishing/Post ProcessingLexJet always recommends backlit prints be laminated due to the rough nature of installation. Optimal dry time prior to lamination is 24 hours. This backlit is not water resistant with either dye or pigment inks. If water resistance is necessary an edge sealer such as 3M 3950 must be applied to the edge of the laminated print.
Light FastnessThe fading time of inkjet ink is a direct result of the inks that you choose to use and the environment where the print is displayed. Contact the ink manufacturer for light fastness data.
Optimal Print Environment59-86° F, 30-70% R.H
Handling RecommendationsDue to the absorptive nature of the coating, you should avoid touching the coated surface of the film. It is always recommended that cotton gloves be used when handling inkjet coated materials. Rolls of LexJet film are supplied with the coated side facing out.
Software SettingsThe coating on this product is engineered for better than 300% ink coverage. A photo luster, satin or semi-gloss setting is the recommended starting point. However, we recommend a custom ICC profile for optimal results. Please refer to www.lexjet.com for starting-point ICC profiles for some printers.
Ideal Storage Conditions70° F (21° C), 50% R.H. (a controlled environment is recommended); store vertically in original packaging.
Shelf Life1 year from the LexJet ship date when stored in proper conditions.
